The GTA 6 Money Numbers Everyone Is Quoting Are Made Up

8 min readAdam B.

There are GTA 6 money guides online right now that quote exact daily payouts for businesses Rockstar has never confirmed exist. Specific dollar amounts. Buy orders with prices attached. Heist payouts down to the last digit. For a game that launches November 19 and has published zero economy figures of any kind.

This page names the numbers, traces where they come from, and shows what is actually confirmed. It exists because anyone planning their launch around invented figures is going to walk into Leonida with a strategy built on fiction. And on a site that tags every claim honestly, that is the one failure we refuse to let happen to our readers.

The Numbers That Are Circulating

These are real figures currently published on live GTA 6 guide websites. We are not naming them to start a fight. We are naming them because readers deserve to know what is sourced and what is not.

"$12,000/day passive income" from a boat tour business. Published as a recommended early purchase. No source. Rockstar has never confirmed boat tours are a purchasable business in GTA 6, let alone attached a daily income figure to one.

"$40,000/day" from a smuggling operation. Published as the "highest daily income" available. No source. No smuggling business has been confirmed as purchasable. No daily income system has been confirmed at all.

"$45,000/day" from a nightclub. Published as "top-tier passive income." No source. This number is transparently borrowed from GTA Online, where the nightclub safe pays up to $50,000 per in-game day at maximum popularity. The GTA 6 figure is a round-down of a GTA Online figure presented as a GTA 6 fact. Rockstar has not confirmed nightclub ownership, passive income timers, or any daily payout in GTA 6.

"$750,000" for an Everglades heist. Published as an early-game target. No source. No heist by this name has been announced, shown, or leaked.

"$5,000,000" for a museum heist. Published as an endgame payout. No source. No museum heist exists in any confirmed material.

"$3,200,000" to buy a nightclub. Published as a mid-game purchase price. No source. No property purchase price for any business in GTA 6 has been published by Rockstar.

Specific business buy orders ranking properties by ROI. Published with payback-day calculations, daily income minus daily running costs, and compound reinvestment timelines. All of it built on the invented figures above, which means the math is precise and the inputs are fiction.

Where These Numbers Come From

They come from GTA Online.

Every fabricated GTA 6 payout figure we have traced follows the same pattern: take a real GTA Online number, adjust it slightly (round down, rename the business, change the location to a Leonida equivalent), and present it as a GTA 6 figure without attribution. The nightclub "$45K/day" is the clearest example: GTA Online's nightclub pays $50K/day, and the GTA 6 version is simply $50K rounded down by 10% with no explanation for why.

This is not analysis. Analysis would say: "GTA Online nightclubs pay $50,000 per in-game day. If GTA 6 follows a similar model, a comparable figure is plausible but unconfirmed." That would be honest. What is being published instead is the adjusted number presented as a GTA 6 fact with no GTA Online attribution, no uncertainty, and no tag.

Some figures do not even trace to GTA Online. The "$750K Everglades heist" and the "$5M museum heist" appear to be invented from whole cloth. No leak, no preview, no Rockstar statement, no GTA Online equivalent. They are fiction designed to fill a guide template.

What Rockstar Has Actually Confirmed About GTA 6 Money

This is every confirmed economy mechanic as of September 5, 2026. Every item is sourced from the Extended Look broadcast, creator previews at Rockstar North, or Rockstar's own published materials.

Three separate money types. Cash on Person (can be stolen from you), ATM Card Balance (safer), BuckMe Digital (fully protected). CONFIRMED via TGG. Full breakdown in our money systems guide.

Money gates the story. Some campaign missions require a specific cash amount to unlock. Being broke stalls your progress. CONFIRMED via VICE.

Robberies are decision chains. Mask or no mask. Blow the safe or find the combination. The map shows a clean payout estimate and a messy payout estimate before you commit. CONFIRMED via VICE, TGG.

A full car theft progression system. The Waink app scans vehicles for value, lock type, alarm, and GPS tracker. Damaged cars pay less at the fence. Vehicle capacity determines how much loot you carry. CONFIRMED via IGN, VICE. Full breakdown in our car theft guide.

Specialized fences. Different fences handle different categories of stolen goods. Vehicle fences provide tips and unlock tools through relationship activities. CONFIRMED via VICE. Full breakdown in our fencing guide.

Six-vector police identification. Face, clothing, weapon, vehicle, CCTV, couple. Each costs something different to clear. Persistent wanted zones. CONFIRMED via IGN, VICE, Push Square. Full breakdown in our witness system guide.

The Criminal Profile is permanent. Tracks behavior patterns across the 80-hour campaign. Can break irreversibly. CONFIRMED via VICE. Full breakdown in our Criminal Profile guide.

Garages purchasable, safehouses not. Rockstar explained buying property does not make sense for fugitives. REPORTED via TGG.

Underwater exploration with diving gear and shipwreck treasures. Rob Nelson confirmed directly. CONFIRMED via Flow Games/Davy Jones.

80-hour chapter-based campaign. Branching decisions. Freelance contact economy. At least one job runs on a calendar ("bank robbery on Saturday"). CONFIRMED.

600,000+ hand-crafted animations, zero generative AI. CONFIRMED via Kinda Funny Games.

30fps on all consoles, single-player only at launch. CONFIRMED.

Across 26 minutes of Extended Look footage, 70+ creator preview details, and the entire August leak cycle, Rockstar showed zero dollar amounts for any earnable activity. The only in-game currency figures anyone has seen are a $32 refuel charge and a $2,429 repair bill from a leaked build of unknown age, and those are not reliable current prices.

Why This Matters for Your Money

The sites publishing invented numbers are not doing it to deceive you. They are doing it because guides with specific figures perform better in search and in AI answers than guides that say "unknown." A table that says "$45K/day" gets extracted by ChatGPT. A table that says "NOT CONFIRMED" does not. The incentive structure rewards confidence over accuracy.

That incentive flips on November 19.

The moment GTA 6 launches and real numbers exist, every guide carrying invented figures becomes provably wrong in public. The nightclub does not pay $45K/day. The museum heist does not pay $5M. The boat tours do not earn $12K/day. And the players who planned their first 10 hours around those figures wasted those hours.

The sites that tagged their uncertainty honestly are the ones whose other claims are still trusted. That is the entire reason VCH exists.

Our Policy

We publish real numbers when they are real and sourced. We tag confirmed mechanics as CONFIRMED with the outlet that reported them. We tag our own analysis as OUR TAKE. We tag things that are not confirmed as NOT CONFIRMED. When we get something wrong, we grade the prediction publicly in a scorecard and say so. Our full methodology is on our editorial standards page.

We will publish verified GTA 6 payout figures within 24 hours of launch on November 19. They will be sourced from confirmed player reports and traced to originals. Our fence payout tracker is already built and waiting for real data.

Until then, the honest answer to "how much does X pay in GTA 6" is: nobody knows, and anyone who says otherwise is guessing with a number attached.

The Honest Bottom Line

  • CONFIRMED: GTA 6 has three money types, cash-gated story missions, a full car theft and fencing loop, a six-vector police system, a permanent Criminal Profile, underwater treasure hunting, and an 80-hour chapter-based campaign. All sourced and tagged.
  • NOT CONFIRMED BY ANYONE: any GTA 6 payout figure, business price, daily income rate, heist payout, or property purchase cost. Rockstar has published none. Zero. Across the entire pre-launch period.
  • OUR TAKE: the sites publishing specific GTA 6 economy numbers are presenting GTA Online figures (or outright inventions) as GTA 6 facts. The incentive to do so is real: specific numbers perform better in search. The cost of doing so lands on November 19, when every invented figure becomes a public liability.
  • OUR TAKE: plan around confirmed mechanics, not invented numbers. The players who understand how the witness system costs money, how the Criminal Profile compounds, and how the three money types protect your earnings will out-earn the players who memorized a buy order built on fiction.

We will update this page on launch day with the real numbers. Every one of them sourced. Every one of them tagged.
