No, Rockstar Did Not Announce GTA 6 Trailer 3 for July 25

3 min readVice City Hustle

A screenshot is going around showing Rockstar Games announcing that GTA 6 Trailer 3 releases on July 25, with an IGN reply underneath celebrating it.

It's fake. Here's how we know, and how to check the next one yourself in ten seconds.

What's Circulating

The image shows two tweets. One appears to be from @RockstarGames stating that Trailer 3 will officially release on July 25 and pointing people to the official website. The second appears to be IGN reacting enthusiastically.

It spread through Instagram stories and fan aggregator accounts before most people saw the original — which is the tell, not the exception.

Why It's Not Real

Rockstar has announced nothing. As of today, there is no teaser, no countdown, no date, and no post on Rockstar's own timeline. Every outlet still lists Trailer 3 as unannounced.

The wire copy is wrong. The IGN tweet reads like a fan account — enthusiastic, first-person, excited. That is not how a wire outlet posts breaking news.

It's not Rockstar's format. When Rockstar announced Trailer 1 in December 2023, it used a Miami-styled poster with a specific date and time. A plain-text tweet with no artwork and no time doesn't match anything the studio has ever done for a trailer reveal.

The silence is the loudest evidence. If Rockstar had genuinely dated Trailer 3, it would be the biggest gaming story of the week and every major outlet would have it inside ten minutes. Nobody does.

How to Check This Yourself, Every Time

  1. Go to the source account directly. Open X, go to @RockstarGames, and look at the actual timeline. If it isn't there, it doesn't exist.
  2. Check the Newswire. Rockstar posts every real announcement to its own Newswire. No Newswire post, no announcement.
  3. Look for the wire outlets. If IGN, Eurogamer and VGC aren't all carrying it within minutes, it isn't real.
  4. Distrust screenshots of screenshots. A screenshot of a tweet, reposted to an Instagram story, is two layers from any source and takes thirty seconds to fabricate.

What Is Actually Confirmed

CONFIRMED: GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with digital preload from November 12.

CONFIRMED: Take-Two reports earnings on August 7. That call covers the quarter ending June 30, which includes the first days of pre-orders.

RUMOR: Most projections put Trailer 3 somewhere between late July and mid-August, based on Rockstar's own marketing history. That's inference, not information.

CONFIRMED: Rockstar has not announced Trailer 3, its date, its length, or its contents.

Why We Bother Writing This

Because the alternative is what most GTA sites did today, which was either repost it or say nothing.

Every claim on this site carries a tag — Confirmed, Rumor, Community, or Our Take. It means we move slower than the accounts chasing the hype, and it means when we say something is confirmed, you can build a plan on it.

Trailer 3 is coming. We'll cover it the hour it lands, with the money breakdown the same day. We won't invent a date to get there first.

Be ready before launch. The Day-One Money Plan goes out by email to subscribers shortly before November 19. Free, no catch.
