Is the GTA 6 Cover Girl a Real Person? The Gabriela Chiquin Theory Explained
When Rockstar dropped the official GTA 6 cover art on June 18, fans did what fans do — and within a weekend, the internet was convinced it had found the real-life woman behind the cover girl. Her name is Gabriela Chiquin, and the wildest part is she responded.
Here's what's actually real, what isn't, and why Rockstar will almost certainly never say a word.
What Sparked It
The GTA 6 cover features the two protagonists plus a dark-haired woman by a pool — curly hair, a green top, a very South Florida aesthetic. A Reddit user posted a side-by-side with Gabriela Chiquin, a Venezuelan DJ, producer and model who posts as @chiquin__.
The match was uncanny: same voluminous curly hair, same green sports top, same pose and vibe.
Why It Didn't Get Written Off
Normally you'd assume a model just threw on a matching outfit to ride the hype. This time, that doesn't hold up.
- The photo of Chiquin in the green top is from 2024 — roughly two years before the cover art existed. It can't be cosplay of a cover nobody had seen.
- Her whole aesthetic — Latin, Miami-adjacent, party-scene — maps almost perfectly onto the Vice City world Rockstar is building.
- She responded. Chiquin pinned the comparison post and updated an old caption to read that people say she looks like "the brunette in GTA VI," thanking the community for the love.
Notably, she never actually claimed to be the inspiration. She leaned into a fun moment without overclaiming — which is exactly the right way to play it, and part of why the story has aged well.
What's Actually Confirmed vs Not
Here's where every other page blurs the line and we won't.
CONFIRMED: The resemblance is real. The 2024 photo predates the cover. Chiquin acknowledged the comparison and saw a big follower spike from it.
NOT CONFIRMED: That she is the official inspiration for the cover art. Rockstar has said nothing, and here's the thing — it almost certainly never will.
Why Rockstar Will Never Confirm It
This isn't Rockstar being coy. There's a concrete reason.
Rockstar has a long practice of building composite characters — blends of many references, not portraits of real people — specifically so no single person can claim their likeness was used. And they have scar tissue here: Lindsay Lohan sued over a GTA 5 marketing character she said was based on her. The case went all the way to New York's Court of Appeals, which rejected it 6-0 in 2018.
Confirming a real-world inspiration would hand a future plaintiff the exact admission that lawsuit lacked. So Rockstar's silence isn't a mystery. It's legal strategy. Expect it to hold forever.
The Bottom Line
CONFIRMED: A real DJ looks strikingly like the GTA 6 cover girl, posted the look first in 2024, and embraced the comparison.
OUR TAKE: It's a genuinely fun resemblance and a great piece of accidental marketing for both her and the game. But "cover girl revealed" it is not — Rockstar builds composite characters and has every legal reason to stay silent. Enjoy the coincidence; don't treat it as fact.
That gap — between what's fun to believe and what's actually confirmed — is the whole reason this site exists. We'll always tell you which is which.
