GTA 6 Extended Look: Every Confirmed Money Detail

7 min readVice City Hustle

Eight days of leaks. Years of waiting. Tonight, Rockstar showed it themselves.

The GTA 6 Extended Look premiered on Netflix this evening, captured on PS5, and everything below is from the official footage — not a leak, not a rumor, not inference. Every detail in this article is CONFIRMED, because we watched it happen.

The Money Mechanics: What Actually Pays

The lead story is a choice. Robbing a jewelry store, Jason and Lucia are given an explicit decision: put on a face mask, or don't. This isn't a cutscene — it's a real gameplay prompt, and it's the clearest evidence yet that GTA 6's crime isn't just about what you steal. It's about what you're willing to risk to do it.

That's a genuinely new idea for the series. Live coverage from the reveal itself backs the shape of it up directly — Rockstar is building consequences for player choices that reportedly go further than what Red Dead Redemption 2 experimented with. A mask likely means less identifiability, more caution, maybe a slower job. No mask likely means faster, riskier, and probably a bigger response. We don't have the exact mechanical tradeoff yet — but the existence of the choice is confirmed, and that's the story.

Corner store robberies are back, Jason and Lucia together, masks and sunglasses on. In a separate sequence, Lucia handles a robbery solo — gun held low behind her back walking in, running out with a loot bag, Jason on the pickup. Two different robbery configurations, confirmed in the same reveal: full-crew jobs and solo runs.

There's a freelance crime economy. A contact — referred to on stream as "the Spanish dude" — pays Jason and Lucia after a job. It wasn't clear on screen whether the payment was cash or product, but the structure is unmistakable: take jobs from contacts, get paid per job, repeat. That's not a heist. That's a system.

And there's a calendar attached to at least one job. The same contact references a "bank robbery on Saturday" — a scheduled score with a specific day attached, not an on-demand mission you trigger whenever you want. If that holds, GTA 6's biggest scores may run on a schedule you have to plan around, not one you control entirely.

Raymond's operation looks like real infrastructure, not a mission set piece. Jason and Lucia find him packaging drugs with a full crew before a federal raid interrupts everything. A meth lab with staff, supply, and its own phone line is the shape of a business, not a one-time story beat.

And there's a business empire thread running through the story itself. Andres de Leon — introduced by a contact named Tina, arriving by private plane — is protected by Jason and Lucia as security detail at a party. De Leon has construction-style models on his desk, and the reveal shows Megamundo, described as its "first corporate headquarters on American soil." Whether that's a hotel chain or something larger wasn't specified, but a story-driven business empire is now a confirmed thread, not speculation.

The Leak Scorecard: What CyberLeek Got Right

Eight days of unauthorized footage, checked against the real thing.

Fishing: CONFIRMED. It appeared in tonight's activities montage. The system we built an entire guide around from a single leaked prompt is real.

Dog physics: CONFIRMED. Petting a dog with real physics response was shown directly — and tied to a genuine mechanic, not just flavor: petting the dog gave Jason positive honor karma, meaning small, human choices appear to feed a real reputation system.

Beach crowd density and the gas station fuel interface: still confirming. Both need a second pass against the full broadcast before we call them either way. We'd rather say "not yet confirmed" honestly than guess.

The Story: What We Actually Saw

Jason and Lucia open on a pickup for Boobie Ike, tracking down Raymond, who's running drugs out of an apartment with a crew. A call from someone named Ernesto warns Raymond police are coming — moments later, what looks like federal agents breach the apartment and start shooting. Jason and Lucia escape through a window as the raid turns lethal around them.

Later, in a quieter scene, the pair share an apartment together — a Sunday-afternoon beat, Jason on the couch with a beer, TV on. This is the first confirmed look at Jason and Lucia living together as a real domestic unit, not just criminal partners.

Brian Heder, meeting them at a rooftop bar, offers a job that "needs to be done tonight" — and notably, only one of the two protagonists is needed for it. That's a real signal toward character-specific mission branches, worth watching closely if you're planning which protagonist to lean on.

The Andres de Leon thread introduces new named characters — Tina, who makes the introduction, and later Petra Navarro. De Leon arrives by private plane, rides with Jason and Lucia to a party where they're posted as his security detail, and the party is violently interrupted: someone kidnaps de Leon mid-event. Jason fights through a dark hallway trying to reach him; Lucia is thrown down a staircase and choked by a man in a white jumpsuit before turning the situation around and grabbing a weapon.

A UI detail worth flagging for money planning: Lucia's in-game texts to Jason appear directly on screen as an interface element — the phone isn't just a prop, it's a real information channel the game uses to move the story and, potentially, jobs.

Everything Else Confirmed Tonight

Activities: fishing, DJing, basketball, jet skiing, weightlifting, canoeing, strip clubs, street racing, motorcycle racing, skydiving, boating, and casual beer-drinking-on-the-water downtime. A social-media-style "challenge" sequence also appeared, showing a character filming a stunt in a car trunk.

Switching: Jason and Lucia can be swapped between freely, at any time — not restricted to mission moments.

Combat and driving: slow-motion on headshot attempts, realistic chase physics with cop cars responding to impacts, Lucia driving in reverse specifically to shake pursuers, and a sequence where Jason fires from the back window while Lucia drives — later joined by a third character shooting alongside them.

One confirmed explosion beat: a car gets blown up, the characters walk away from it, and the scene transitions straight into a different vehicle — a clean, direct look at how the game handles a "burn it and move on" moment.

Music: "People Are People" by Depeche Mode plays during a driving sequence.

And the timing lines up with the end of the leak cycle. As tonight's broadcast aired, reporting suggests Cyberleek cashed out a significant portion of the CYBERLEEK token and went quiet. Whether that's coincidence or the operator reading the room, the unauthorized footage era of this cycle appears to be ending exactly as the authorized one begins.

The Verdict

  • CONFIRMED: a robbery choice system exists — mask or no mask, a real gameplay decision with implied consequences.
  • CONFIRMED: a freelance job economy, paid per job, with at least one scheduled score ("bank robbery on Saturday").
  • CONFIRMED: Raymond's drug operation is a staffed, infrastructure-level system, not a single mission.
  • CONFIRMED: a story-driven business empire thread, centered on Andres de Leon and Megamundo.
  • CONFIRMED: the leaked fishing system and dog-petting physics were both real.
  • CONFIRMED: Jason and Lucia can switch freely at any time, and share a real domestic space in the story.
  • STILL CONFIRMING: beach crowd density and the fuel/repair interface from earlier leaks — pending a second pass.
  • OUR TAKE: this is the first time GTA has attached a real risk/reward choice to a routine robbery rather than a scripted heist. If that logic extends across the game, day-one money planning changes completely — it's no longer just "what do I rob," it's "how do I want to rob it."
