The Ones Rockstar Clearly Did on Purpose

The "fixing some leaks" line. Trailer 2 opens with Jason on a roof doing repairs. Asked what he's doing, he says he's "fixing some leaks." Given the years of massive GTA 6 leaks that plagued Rockstar, this is almost certainly the studio winking at its own leak problem. Classic Rockstar self-awareness.

The chameleon in a Tommy Vercetti shirt. Around the 33-second mark of Trailer 2, when a cashier turns his head, a wall painting is briefly visible — a chameleon wearing the exact palm-tree shirt Tommy Vercetti wore in the original Vice City. It's blurry, on screen for barely a second, and took fans over a year to catch. Pure fan service for Vice City veterans.

The NINE 1 NINE nightclub. Jason and Lucia are shown heading to a club called "NINE 1 NINE," a clear parody of Miami's real-world E11EVEN nightclub. It signals that Leonida will be packed with recognizable real-Miami businesses under fake names.

Jason across from the Ocean View Hotel. In an official screenshot, Jason wears a palm-tree shirt while standing near the Ocean View Hotel — Tommy Vercetti's old hangout from Vice City. Two Vercetti nods in one trailer cycle is not a coincidence.

The Callbacks to Other Rockstar Games

The Red Dead Redemption 2 reference. Around the 1:17 mark of Trailer 2, fans spotted a man whose face closely resembles Everett from a wanted poster in Red Dead Redemption 2 — same bushy mustache. Rockstar loves cross-game nods, and this is a strong candidate.

Phil Cassidy on a TV. Sharp-eyed fans think they spotted Phil Cassidy — an iconic character from the older 3D-era GTA games — appearing in a gun-store commercial on a TV Jason is watching. If real, it's a deep-cut reference to GTA's own history.

The Hidden Wildlife

Rockstar hid animals throughout both trailers, and fans keep finding more:

• A shark lurking near a group of dolphins in the Trailer 1 ocean shot (around the 10-second mark)
• A mountain lion prowling Mount Kalaga National Park in Trailer 2
• Flamingos and gators scattered throughout

The takeaway fans are drawing: GTA 6's world may rival Red Dead Redemption 2 for wildlife density, which was never a real feature in GTA 5.

The Story Clues Hidden in Plain Sight

Lucia's ankle monitor. In Trailer 2, Jason picks Lucia up and she's wearing an ankle monitor that comes off later — a small detail telling you she's fresh out of incarceration and on supervised release.

Jason's military past. His tattoo, plus confirmation on Rockstar's own website, marks him as a former paratrooper who worked for drug runners in the Leonida Keys. His backstory is hidden in his ink.

The console in the apartment. Near the trailer's end, a PS5-style console and a DualShock-like controller sit by the TV — possibly a nod to Sony's marketing deal, possibly just set dressing.

What This Means for GTA 6
